Packaging Operator

This role sits at the very heart of our production line and manages all aspects of the end-to-end production of some of the UK’s best known tissue brands.

The successful candidate will work on our rostered 4 shift pattern working 2 days then 2 nights so you can get that all important work/life balance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Maintain the continuous running of our packaging machines.
• Facilitate product change overs including the loading of polyethylene reels.
• Responsible for the effective running of the log saw as and when required.
• Interact with the machine to solve minor issues/breakdown leading to the enhanced productivity of the machines.
• Carry out quality checks on productions when required and report any faults to the respective person.
• Carry out small maintenance activities and adjustments.
• Support the colleagues in case of need and overview the end line process when required.
• Be accountable for high levels of housekeeping of the working area throughout the shift.
• Strong awareness of health & safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery and automated systems.
• Ability to identify and report product defects or process deviations.
• Willingness to stop the line and escalate issues where standards are not met.
• High level of attention to detail and ownership of work.
• Understanding that accuracy of checks and records is critical.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous manufacturing experience running automated packaging lines, desirable to have previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to carry out machine set-ups, changeovers, and basic fault finding.
• Strong understanding of quality standards and in-process checks.
• Commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions accurately.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Excellent decision making abilities and the confidence to take on responsibilities.
• Good level of numeracy and literacy (for recording checks, counts, and documentation).
• Desire to progress and advance within the role.

WORKING HOURS

4 on 4 off Shift Pattern: 2 days, 2 nights.
