We are world leaders in what we do and we are looking for an experienced Machine Operator in a production/manufacturing setting. This role sits at the heart of our production line and manages all aspects of the end‑to‑end production of some of the UK’s best known tissue brands. The successful candidate will work a rostered 4‑shift pattern (2 days 06:00‑18:00 then 2 nights 18:00‑06:00), providing a balance between work and life.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the continuous running of our packaging machines
  • Facilitate product change‑overs, including the loading of polyethylene reels
  • Operate the log saw as required
  • Interact with the machine to solve minor issues or breakdowns, enhancing productivity
  • Carry out quality checks on productions and report any faults to the relevant person
  • Perform small maintenance activities and adjustments
  • Support colleagues as needed and oversee the end‑line process
  • Apply strong awareness of health & safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Work safely around moving machinery and automated systems
  • Identify and report product defects or process deviations
  • Stop the line and raise issues where standards are not met
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ownership of work
  • Ensure accuracy of checks and records
  • Apply previous experience operating automated packaging or production machinery
  • Carry out machine set‑ups, change‑overs, and basic fault‑finding
  • Apply understanding of quality standards and in‑process checks
  • Commit to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume production environment
  • Use numeracy and literacy for recording checks, counts and documentation
