Are you passionate about helping young people grow in confidence, wellbeing and learning? We are looking for an English Teacher to join our Milton Keynes team and make a real impact with young people aged 16 to 19 in a non-traditional setting.
Qualifications
- Full teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCSE, Cert. Ed.) or willingness to work towards one.
- Teaching / training or vocational experience in English and relevant up-to-date knowledge.
- Proven track record of managing and supporting a diverse group of learners through vocationally accredited programmes.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining concepts clearly and engaging with students.
- Patience, compassion, and a commitment to assisting students in achieving their goals.
Skills and Expertise
- Knowledge of the current curriculum to deliver English successfully at Functional Skills and GCSE level.
- Respect for learners and an interest in helping them develop both academically and as people.
- Excellent communication skills for working with disaffected learners, learners with disabilities and their parents/carers.
- Ability to adapt to teaching other areas such as Life Skills.
- Good listening skills.
- The capacity to learn quickly.
- Strong organisational skills.
