LOCAL BOOKING LEAD | Newcastle (Casual)

THE ROLE
As part of Sofar’s Innovation work, for three months, we are piloting a role called Local Booker (Casual) where you\’ll support Sofar\’s host and artist community.
The purpose of this role is to encourage local connections with our host and artist community. Your primary focus will be finding and securing venues and hosts in your city. To support your local artists, you’ll work with the Regional team to manage on-the-ground and day-of-show logistics to ensure that artists have a successful performance and magical experience, scout new talent in your local community, and book these artists as part of diverse, compelling lineups that surprise and delight our guests.
Role Description
- Source and secure venues and hosts in your city
- Act as main point of contact for on-the-ground artist logistics including advancing shows, responding to artist requests, managing artist guest lists, and communicating artists needs to production, crew, hosts, and regional operations team
- Work with regional Artist Development team to curate compelling lineups
- Extend offers to local artists and and manage communications regarding artist scheduling and booking
- Update and maintain artist records, overseeing artist profile updates and ensuring that we have accurate information for all talent
- Review incoming artist applications and discover emerging talent
- Keep your finger on the pulse of the local music scene, scouting new acts and building relationships to ensure that we have an extensive roster of diverse, high-quality artists
We’re looking for existing Sofar Crew who bring the following to the pilot:
- You’ve got a track record of work supporting and booking venues and artists, with 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- You have an eye for a great space that could host a Sofar show
- You have a driving passion to support local musicians and to bring people together
- You’re comfortable working autonomously, making your own decisions while also collaborating and communicating with a diverse, distributed cross-functional team.
- In-the-know/connected to the local scene in your own city and across your region
- You have a sincere and empathetic approach to leadership and develop a self-motivated culture of honesty, inclusivity and accountability
- You are organized, detail oriented & work well with deadlines
- You are able to work flexible working hours
- You’re creative in finding ways to bring the local hosts and community together
