The Role As a member of Sofar Crew, you will be working right at the center of the Sofar shows that take place in your city. This is a part-time role that sits within the local team and reports to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for the smooth running of shows and making sure that our events consistently feel amazing for artists, hosts and the audience, so that they have an unforgettable experience. Crew play a super important role in creating the magic in the room by carrying out all the tasks that make our events possible. You’ll help to ensure that everyone’s having the best time and getting the most out of the experience. The majority of our shows take place on evenings and weekends, and we expect our crew members to commit to working multiple shows per month. What you\’ll do: Run a Sofar show end-to-end, reviewing internal notes on venue and show requirements in advance Bring the required gear to shows Be the on-the-day contact for venues, ensuring a clear line of communication throughout the night Work with other crew members to prep and set up physical space for the show including stage placement, lighting, merch table, ambiance, and Sofar branding/decor Troubleshoot and problem solve if things don’t go quite to plan Deliver Sofar shows for brands and partners, ensuring a high quality experience Create a sense of community with guests by warmly welcoming them as they arrive and actively interacting with them throughout the event Assist with guest seating, as well as any needs, accommodations, or questions to ensure they have an incredible experience Help breakdown and load-out, including assisting our audio engineers – our venues should look the same as when we arrived! Complete a detailed event recap form to share important feedback Who you are: You are a proactive and a good communicator You have experience working in events (music a plus!), hospitality, customer service You have strong hospitality instincts and understand how to prioritize guest experience You can keep calm under pressure and have the ability to problem solve You are able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends You\’re able to travel to various locations within the local area You are reliable and accountable, even in fast-paced and high-pressure situations You\’re a strong collaborator and can work with a wide range of personalities Must be able to move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation If our mission and job opening resonate, you\’re encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn\’t precisely match the job description.
