At Sofa Club, we're redefining the furniture shopping experience. We don't believe in traditional retail; we create inspiring spaces where customers can explore beautiful design, receive expert advice, and enjoy an experience that's every bit as memorable as the products themselves.

We're looking for an exceptional Showroom Manager to lead our Liverpool showroom and bring our brand to life through inspiring leadership, commercial excellence, and an outstanding customer experience. This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

If you're an ambitious retail leader who loves developing people, driving sales, and creating environments that customers genuinely enjoy spending time in, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As Showroom Manager, you'll create a showroom that feels more like a destination than a store. You'll lead by example, building a high-performing team of Sofa Hosts while ensuring every customer enjoys a premium, personalised shopping experience. This is a hands-on leadership role where performance and customer experience go hand in hand. You'll coach your team to exceed targets, maintain exceptional showroom standards, and create an environment that's bold, design-led, and unmistakably Sofa Club.

Every day, you'll live our values:

  • Change the Game – Challenge traditional retail and constantly look for better ways to serve our customers.
  • The Power of Us – Build a culture of collaboration, trust and accountability.
  • Own It – Take pride in every detail and lead with accountability.
  • Keep It Simple – Deliver seamless experiences for customers and your team.
What You'll Be Doing

Leading Your Team

  • Inspire, motivate and develop a team of Sofa Hosts to deliver exceptional customer experiences and commercial results.
  • Create a positive, high-energy culture where people feel supported, empowered and accountable.
  • Coach through regular feedback, development conversations and hands-on leadership.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop talented people who embody the Sofa Club culture.
  • Lead by example and build a team that thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Encourage collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

Driving Sales & Customer Experience

  • Deliver ambitious sales, conversion and commercial targets.
  • Lead from the front during busy trading periods.
  • Create a premium, personalised customer journey from first interaction through to purchase.
  • Support your team with complex sales conversations and customer escalations.
  • Use styling, storytelling and expert product knowledge to create an inspiring showroom experience.
  • Analyse sales performance and customer insight to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage omni-channel customer interactions, including Book a Call appointments, Zendesk enquiries and finance follow-ups.

Showroom Standards & Operations

  • Take ownership of the presentation, performance and profitability of the showroom.
  • Ensure every area reflects the premium Sofa Club brand.
  • Manage rotas, stock, deliveries and daily showroom operations.
  • Maintain exceptional visual merchandising, lighting, music and showroom atmosphere.
  • Ensure pricing, POS materials and product information are always accurate.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR and company policies.
  • Keep operational processes simple, consistent and customer-focused.

Commercial & Brand Leadership

  • Be a passionate ambassador for the Sofa Club brand.
  • Drive local awareness through community engagement and marketing activity.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Work closely with the Retail Director and wider business to support continued growth.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of Sofa Club as we continue to expand across the UK.
About You

You'll be an experienced retail leader who combines commercial thinking with a genuine passion for people and customer experience. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience leading successful retail teams, ideally within furniture, interiors, fashion or premium retail.
  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills that bring out the best in others.
  • Energy, confidence and presence on the showroom floor.

How to prepare for a job interview at Sofa Club

Show Off Your Customer Service Skills

In retail, it's all about customer interaction, so be ready to share examples of how you've handled tough customer situations. We recommend thinking through a couple of scenarios before the interview where you went above and beyond to help a customer, as these can really make you stand out.

Brush Up on Product Knowledge

Temporary roles often have a steep learning curve because you'll need to pick up product knowledge fast. Take some time to familiarise yourself with the main products or services that Sofa Club offers, and if possible, try to understand their current promotions. Flexibility is Key

Being in a temporary retail role means you may need to adapt quickly to different tasks or shifts. Be prepared to highlight your flexibility and willingness to take on varied responsibilities during the interview.
