What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality pastry products that consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop innovative and creative menus and pastry offerings.
  • Ensure all food preparation and service activities are completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, allergen, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Support stock control, ordering processes, and kitchen budgets to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Monitor and reduce food waste while maintaining quality and availability.
  • Support the induction, coaching, and development of team members to build a motivated and skilled kitchen brigade.
  • Engage positively with students, staff, visitors, and clients, acting as a professional ambassador for the catering team.
  • Contribute ideas that introduce variety, innovation, and memorable food experiences.
  • Help deliver successful catering operations across daily services, special events, and fine dining occasions while maintaining exceptional standards.

What You Will Bring:

  • A passion for pastry and food innovation, creating exciting, high-quality desserts that enhance the customer experience.
  • Strong pastry skills with experience producing consistent, high-standard products in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A commitment to maintaining excellent food quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, allergen management, health and safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, building positive relationships with colleagues, management, and customers.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, supporting team engagement, training, and development.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on controlling costs, reducing waste, and delivering value for money.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a variety of catering services, from daily dining to special events.
