About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Practitioner Psychologist to join the team at HMP Addiewell, working within Sodexo in partnership with Psychological Services UK Ltd (PSUK). Working alongside a Sodexo employed Forensic Psychologist in Training (FPiT), and supported by an on-site PSUK contracted Consultant Psychologist, you will be part of an organisation where continued professional development is genuinely valued. You will be encouraged and supported to further develop your autonomy as a qualified Practitioner Psychologist while broadening your expertise in the delivery of high‑quality psychological services within a custodial setting. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will contribute directly to rehabilitation outcomes through the delivery of evidence‑based psychological interventions, risk assessments, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Treatment management of high‑intensity Offending Behaviour Interventions
  • Design and delivery of bespoke individual interventions for prisoners unsuitable for group programmes
  • Undertake psychological risk assessments to identify prisoner risks and needs
  • Present findings and recommendations at multidisciplinary case conferences, Risk Management Teams (RMTs), tribunals, and parole hearings
  • Represent psychology professionally and contribute psychological expertise at multidisciplinary meetings
  • Case management of individuals sentenced to an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR), including completion of annual Risk Management Plans
  • Implement and manage systems for collating and interpreting psychological data in line with Data Protection legislation and Sodexo guidelines
  • Support the design, delivery, and implementation of psychological research, projects, and training initiatives

Qualifications Required

  • A Degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society
  • A BPS accredited Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology
  • A postgraduate training qualification leading to Registered Practitioner Psychologist status with the Health and Care Professions Council

  • Understanding of the demands and responsibilities of practice within a custodial environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
