Responsibilities:
- Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods.
- Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts.
- Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide & develop.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Experience in menu planning and production.
- Experience in or exposure to bulk cooking.
- Hold basic food handling skills certification: NVQ Level 2 - desirable; Level 2 Food Safety Certificate - desirable; training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be ongoing throughout the year.
- A minimum of 1 year of hands-on cooking experience.

As a Sous Chef for Sodexo at Kings College, South Road, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3LA, working for the global catering provider Sodexo. This team is skilled, innovative and loves the challenge of an exciting and varied working week. The food we offer our students is the best in the region and beyond, and we need a forward-thinking chef to join our team. We offer straight shifts, and you will be working in a team that revolves around a two-week shift cycle with occasional alterations for functions. We do not work unsociable hours and your holiday allowance includes Bank Holidays. Christmas has an extended period of 'gifted' holiday.
