About the Role

As a General Catering Assistant and Driver, you'll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you'll help ensure everything runs smoothly. In addition to catering duties, you will play an important role in supporting our feeder schools by delivering food, supplies, and equipment using a company van. You will also assist the main school with preparations for the new academic year, helping ensure everything is ready for September. You'll work as part of a supportive team delivering excellent service while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and professionalism.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
  • Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
  • Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately.
  • Deliver food, equipment, and supplies to feeder schools using a company van.
  • Provide practical support to feeder schools as required.
  • Assist the main school with operational and catering preparations for the September term.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues, pupils, and visitors.
  • Carry out general catering and support duties as required.

  • A positive, reliable, and flexible attitude.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A minimum of three years' driving experience.
  • No more than three penalty points on your driving licence.
  • Confidence driving a company van and travelling between school sites.

Additional Information

Term Time Only - Equated Pay. This role works 39 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
