Salary is £36,000 to £40,000, dependant on experience. Monday to Friday shifts are 08:30 to 16:30. Location is Haywood Community Hospital, Stoke On Trent, ST1 5NQ.

We are looking for an accomplished Operations Manager to lead Soft FM operations at Haywood Community Hospital, overseeing a wide range of essential support services that directly impact patient, visitor and staff experience. This high profile leadership role requires a dynamic and commercially minded professional with strong operational management experience, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to inspire teams to deliver outstanding results. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and drive operational excellence across multiple Soft FM services, delivering continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service performance, efficiency and staff engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, supporting contractual delivery, service development discussions and performance reviews.
  • Work closely with operational supervisors and management teams to identify risks, resolve issues and implement opportunities for service improvement and business growth.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance data, using insight and trends to drive measurable improvements and inform strategic decision making.
  • Manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance and ensure effective cost control whilst delivering contractual and business objectives.
  • Provide effective leadership of a diverse workforce, overseeing recruitment, succession planning, performance management, training and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, statutory obligations, health and safety legislation and company policies, promoting a culture of safety, quality and continuous development.

What You Bring:

  • Experience of working in a management role.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team.
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
  • Management knowledge of health and safety and food safety.
  • Able to work on own initiative and drive service standards.
  • Able to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships.
  • Experience of working within PFI environment.
  • Experience of working with Healthcare.
  • Qualifications in HSWA, IOSH and COSHH, Food safety qualification equivalent to CIEH level 3.
