As a Barista at Sodexo, you will craft exceptional coffee and serve a diverse menu including cakes, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and toasties. Located at Royal Stoke Hospital, you will help create a welcoming environment that eases the stress of hospital visits by offering warm hospitality and friendly, professional conversations with patients, staff, and visitors.
What you will do:
- Prepare and handle retail/food produce for daily service, ensuring correct storage, stock rotation, allergen safety, and compliance with Sodexo standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service, operate and balance the till accurately, and upsell products to drive sales growth.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, personal hygiene, uniform presentation, and a safe working environment.
- Manage stock levels, promotional activity awareness, and minimise waste or spoilage across all retail areas.
- Participate in required training, appraisals, and competency checks, and support management with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food preparation and service within a fast-paced, customer-facing food or retail environment.
- Barista/Costa coffee experience desirable, with Level 2 Food Safety preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and work with teams at all levels.
- Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively while working under pressure.
- Positive, flexible team player with a willingness to learn and develop in the role.
Location, Hours & Benefits:
- Location: Royal Stoke Hospital
- Hours: 37.5 hours a week / Any 5 days out of 7 / Shift times between 06:00 - 22:00
- Rate: £10.45 - £12.60 per hour
