The Role
We are seeking an experienced Chef to support the Executive Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals within a school environment. You will help maintain excellent food standards, ensure full compliance with food safety and allergen legislation, and support the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will take responsibility for the kitchen and team when the Executive Chef is absent.
Key Responsibilities
- Support menu preparation, food production, and presentation
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen management
- Supervise kitchen staff and assist with training and development
- Monitor stock, food production, and wastage
- Assist with school events and functions (rota-based, occasional out-of-hours)

- Experience in a similar Sous Chef or senior kitchen role
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and catering standards
