40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Various Shift Patterns: 06:30 till 15:00, 08:00 till 16:30, 12:00 till 20:30. £12.99 per hour.

Join our team with Sodexo as a Cook in a unique and rewarding role within a Ministry of Defence environment, where you'll work alongside military personnel preparing high-quality meals and supporting a variety of events and functions. What you'll do:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Deliver excellent food service to military personnel while maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and EHO regulations at all times.
  • Support kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, following best practices across all areas.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support daily service, bulk catering, and special events.

What you bring:

  • Previous cook experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment, ideally within military or government catering, with a minimum of 5 years' culinary experience.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards, with IOSH qualification desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-focused environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
