Responsibilities
- Manage SAO certification and advise on SAO documentation to SAOs within the UK region.
- Maintain the tax risk register and highlight key or emerging tax risks.
- Develop relationships with the HR team to support Employment Tax queries and projects.
- Lead corporate tax related projects with support from the Compliance team, including R&D and capital allowances.
- Lead on tax authority audits, visits and queries on direct tax.
- Evaluate the impact of changes or new corporate tax legislation or developments in the UK & ROI business, working with the Tax Specialist to implement new processes where required.
- Support the Tax Director with UK tax strategy and tax policy, ensuring compliance with corporate criminal offence legislation.
- Keep up to date with tax technical developments for CPD.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum 2:1.
- Accountancy qualification (AAT/ACA/ACCA).
- Ci OT qualified (preferred).
- Minimum five years of direct tax experience.
- Preparation of tax returns.
- Excellent and up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
- Ability to leverage technical knowledge (tax, accounting and software packages).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to deal with people at different levels across the UK & ROI.
Desirable Qualifications
- Industry experience in a tax team at a national or multinational organisation, leading the team or supporting the head of the team.
- Transfer pricing and tax policy experience.
- Knowledge of One Source Direct tax software.
- Big 4 / Top 10 public accounting firm training.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft, SAP, HFM and general systems.
- Practical process and system knowledge.
