30 hours per week. Shift pattern/hours: Tuesday to Friday 6.30-14.30. £13.11 per hour.

Job Introduction: We are seeking a dedicated Site-Based Cleaning Operative/Housekeeper to join our team at HMPPS Newbold, Rugby, CV23 OTH. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the site. Your efforts will directly contribute to the health, hygiene, and comfort of the residents and staff at each site. This role will play a key component in supporting individuals and will give you insight into working in a setting that provides meaningful work that supports positive change.

What you’ll do:

  • Porter/Cleaner required to support a busy college site, carrying out a range of general duties to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Responsibilities will include linen porterage, distribution of cleaning supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the linen store.
  • The role will also involve unpacking clean linen bags and accurately storing items on designated shelving.
  • You may also be required to assist with additional portering duties as needed to support the wider site team.
  • This role is physically demanding.
  • Focus on the details and complete a list of scheduled cleaning tasks.
  • Periodic deep cleaning of certain areas, instructed by supervisor.
  • Ensure all areas, including kitchens, toilets, communal areas are cleaned and are presentable.
  • Replenishing stock and consumables such as toilet tissue and hand soaps.
  • You will work closely with the security team, reporting any faults or hazards whilst also helping maintain the cleanliness of their areas too!
  • This role requires you to have an approachable attitude.

What you bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses is desirable, but not essential - our great training will ensure you are fully trained in all areas of health and safety!
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Can work at a fast pace and adapt to change when needed.
  • Be a team player and take instruction.
