Job Introduction

We are looking for a experiencedSecurity Supervisor to lead the day-to-day security and car parking operations at Queen's Hospital. In this role you will help create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will supervise and support the security team, coordinate responses to incidents and ensure a professional, customer-focused service is delivered across the hospital site.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise, support and develop Security Officers during each shift.
- Allocate daily duties and deploy the team to maintain appropriate security coverage.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms and major incidents.
- Investigate theft, aggression, trespassing, criminal damage and antisocial behaviour.
- Complete accurate incident reports, statements and operational logs.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings, departments, car parks and surrounding grounds.
- Monitor CCTV, access-control systems and alarms in line with relevant policies and legislation.
- Liaise professionally with clinical teams, hospital management, the police and emergency services.
- Support emergency procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns and missing-person incidents.
- Monitor attendance, coordinate effective shift handovers and help maintain staffing levels.
- Carry out inspections, audits and risk assessments to reduce security risks.
- Oversee car parking operations, respond to parking enquiries and report equipment faults.
- Provide a courteous and helpful service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
What You'll Bring:
- Previous experience supervising or leading a security team.
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Strong leadership and decision‑making skills.
- Experience responding to incidents and emergency situations.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good report‑writing and IT skills.
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control and security systems.
- A clear understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
- A flexible approach to working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
- A professional appearance and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
