The Role
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across the site. This includes:
- Monitoring systems, controlling access, responding to incidents, and ensuring full compliance with security, safety, and operational procedures.
What you'll do:
- Greet staff and visitors, ensuring all access and security protocols are followed.
- Control site access and egress for both pedestrians and vehicles.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to prevent and detect security risks.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and requests for assistance, coordinating with relevant teams or emergency services.
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, logs, and daily occurrence documentation.
- Act as a key holder and support emergency procedures when required.
- Carry out searches, enforce site policies, and ensure vehicles are parked appropriately.
- Support site operations, including handling deliveries, post, and general administrative tasks.
- Assist with fire safety procedures, including alarm testing and evacuation support.
- Report hazards, faults, and health & safety concerns to management.
- Support site activities such as inductions, contractor monitoring, and ad hoc operational requests.
- Promote a professional, customer-focused security presence at all times.
What you'll bring:
- A valid and in-date SIA Licence.
- Previous experience in a security or similar role.
- Strong observational, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to respond to incidents calmly and effectively.
- Good understanding of security systems and procedures.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
