Job Introduction
Join Sodexo as a Night Security Officer in Reading and take on a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their premises during overnight hours. As the primary on-site presence throughout the night, you will maintain vigilant patrols, respond promptly to incidents, monitor security systems, and provide calm, professional support whenever needed. What you’ll do:
- Control site access, including locking/unlocking facilities, managing visitors, and verifying deliveries and trailer security.
- Monitor CCTV, fire alarms, BMS systems, and respond promptly to any incidents or suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular campus patrols and report any faults, risks, or security concerns through the correct systems.
- Handle emergencies by taking emergency calls, providing First Aid when required, and coordinating with emergency services.
- Perform essential support duties such as reception tasks, answering calls, assisting with site communications, and maintaining accurate security logs.
What you’ll bring:
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Valid SIA licence.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both face‑to‑face and through email, Tannoy, and telephone.
