What you'll do:

  • Carry out scheduled and reactive cleaning duties, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site.
  • Clean and maintain designated workspaces, communal areas and facilities throughout the working day.
  • Carry out routine cleaning, spot cleaning and replenish consumables as required.
  • Respond promptly to spillages, contamination incidents and urgent cleaning requests, ensuring areas are made safe and clean as quickly as possible.
  • Monitor cleanliness throughout the day and proactively address any areas requiring attention.
  • Prioritise cleaning tasks effectively, responding to requests from the Helpdesk, colleagues and site users.
  • Use cleaning machinery, equipment and chemicals correctly and safely.
  • Follow COSHH, Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Health & Safety and safe working procedures at all times.
  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task being completed.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, stock shortages, access issues or anything that could affect the cleaning service.
  • Escalate specialist cleaning requirements or issues that cannot be safely resolved.
  • Store cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly after use.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with colleagues, customers and other teams across the site.
  • Support sustainability initiatives through responsible use of cleaning products, recycling and reducing waste where possible.
  • Provide additional cleaning cover and support when required to help maintain continuity of service.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous cleaning experience would be beneficial, particularly within a commercial, corporate or facilities environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices, or a willingness to undertake the required training.
  • Experience using cleaning machinery, equipment and chemicals safely would be advantageous.
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to prioritise scheduled and reactive tasks.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to identify and respond to cleaning issues.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A reliable, adaptable and professional approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to urgent cleaning requirements.
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety and following procedures correctly.
