What you'll do:
- Supervise and support the day-to-day delivery of cleaning, housekeeping and waste services, ensuring consistently high standards across the site.
- Lead, motivate and support the cleaning team, providing clear direction and ensuring daily tasks are completed effectively.
- Organise workloads and adapt cleaning schedules and task cards to meet changing business requirements.
- Carry out regular cleaning quality audits and safety inspections, taking action where improvements are required.
- Ensure cleaning standards meet agreed service requirements and maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
- Train, induct and develop team members, maintaining accurate training records and supporting ongoing performance and development.
- Hold regular team briefings and provide coaching and feedback to colleagues.
- Ensure Health & Safety, COSHH, hygiene, fire safety and safe working procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained in safe working order, reporting faults and preventing unsafe equipment from being used.
- Support the management of waste and recycling services, ensuring waste is handled safely and in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Manage cleaning consumables and stock, ensuring appropriate supplies are available and orders are placed on time.
- Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, contractors and other site service teams.
- Respond effectively to customer feedback, resolving issues and helping maintain excellent service standards.
- Support office moves, site events and additional cleaning requirements when needed.
- Assist with deliveries, storage areas and other facilities-related activities as required.
- Promote continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve cleaning standards and the overall service.
What you'll bring:
- Previous experience within cleaning, housekeeping or facilities services, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience leading, supporting or coordinating a team.
- Strong people-management skills with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and safe working practices.
- Experience carrying out cleaning audits, quality checks or inspections would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- The confidence to manage workloads and respond to changing operational priorities.
- Good administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to support the team with cleaning duties when required.
- A customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- The ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, suppliers and colleagues.
