This is a specialist delivery role aimed at supporting safe and successful reintegration into the community. Responsibilities
- Lead the full offender management process for low and medium-risk individuals.
- Conduct timely and high-quality OASys assessments and sentence planning.
- Provide professional advice and prepare reports for parole hearings, ROTL, MAPPA boards, and other justice agencies.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to coordinate risk management strategies.
- Encourage participation in rehabilitation, education, and employment programmes.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, boards, and hearings.
- Support probation officers with high-risk case management as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely records using case management systems (e.g., PNOMIS, OASys).
- Play a key role in safeguarding, public protection, and risk mitigation processes.
- Engage in continuous improvement and contribute to a positive team culture.
Qualifications
Essential
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyse complex information to inform decisions.
- Empathy and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working with people who face a range of social or personal challenges.
- Understanding of key offending-related issues (e.g. substance misuse, accommodation).
- Experience with risk assessment, risk management, and planning.
- Confidence in challenging behaviours constructively and using professional authority.
Desirable
- A-Level or degree in Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
- Familiarity with national offender management standards and legislation.
- Experience using OASys or other case management tools.
- Experience representing organisations at formal hearings (e.g. parole boards, tribunals).
- Experience supervising or supporting individuals in a professional or voluntary setting.
