Job Introduction
We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Post Room Operativeto join our team at HMRC Belfast, BT1 4GF.In this varied role, you\’ll deliver a professional mail service, assist with stationery and catering support, and carry out general cleaning and receptionist tasks.This is a hands-on role where every day is different, and your work will play an important part in keeping services running smoothly for both our clients and colleagues.
What You\’ll Do
- Provide an efficient, professional mail service (sorting, delivering, and franking mail) in line with service level agreements.
- Organise and support stationery deliveries, including manual handling.
- Support catering (e.g., café assistance, restocking coffee rooms).
- Carry out general cleaning duties using appropriate equipment and materials after training.
- Follow profit protection procedures and report maintenance or safety issues immediately.
- Always wear correct uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
- Assist with receptionist duties and general tasks as instructed by the Post Room Supervisor.
- Help with lifting and moving furniture, including meeting room setups.
- Take part in training and actively contribute to team meetings.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors, staff, and contractors.
- Be flexible with working hours to cover holiday and sickness absences.
