Responsibilities
- Guide patients, visitors, and staff to the correct hospital locations
- Handle waste collection and recycling while maintaining health and safety standards
- Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and management systems
- Safely transport patients between wards using appropriate equipment and care
- Deliver specimens, samples, and blood products securely across departments
- Support with respectful transfer of deceased patients
- Provide additional porter services such as mail delivery, pharmacy runs, moving furniture, and transporting records or stock
Qualifications
- Physical stamina and ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Aware of health and safety practices in a hospital setting
- Calmness under pressure and adaptability to changing tasks
- A strong team ethic with the ability to work independently when needed
