Salary: £13.78 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Working Pattern: 5 days over 7 - Earliest start 6am and latest finish 7:30pm. If some hospitality events, latest finish would be 9pm.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
  • Oversee food replenishment and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment
  • Support, mentor, and train kitchen staff to build a positive and motivated team
  • Manage catering operations including labour, food, and stock control
  • Maintain consistent food quality and service for students, staff, and visitors
  • Contribute to menu planning and development to keep dishes fresh and exciting
  • Carry out regular checks and audits to ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards

What You Bring:

  • Experience cooking in a large-scale catering environment (100-1300 students)
  • Ability to follow recipes and deliver consistent results in a professional kitchen
  • Previous team supervision or line management experience
  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation
  • Solid understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations
  • Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for food

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
  • At least 1 year of hands-on cooking experience
  • Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided
