As an Electrician at Wythenshawe Hospital, you'll play a vital role in keeping the healthcare environment safe and efficient. You'll handle a variety of tasks across the bustling Wythenshawe Site and its Ancillary Buildings, ensuring all electrical systems run smoothly and reliably. Responsibilities

  • Respond daily to PDA-based work orders, ensuring accurate completion with supporting evidence.
  • Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and corrective actions as the "Competent Person" under Sodexo SSOW, electrical permits, BS7671, HTMs, and Electricity at Work Act.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations during all tasks.
  • Perform statutory and non-statutory repairs and planned preventive maintenance (PPM), advising supervisors on required remedial actions.
  • Conduct fault-finding diagnostics on electrical systems in a healthcare environment and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Understand mechanical, plumbing, and building systems relevant to healthcare settings.
  • Participate in emergency responses including Out of Hours On Call, 15-Minute Response, and Lift Release Warden duties.
  • Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD) both on-site and externally.
  • Be available for out-of-hours maintenance, generator testing, and potentially work at heights using access equipment.
  • May work alone, drive company vehicles, work overtime or shift patterns, and undertake additional duties as directed by management or on other Sodexo contracts.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified Electrician (City & Guilds/NVQ)
  • Current with 18th Edition IET Regulations (or equivalent)
  • Solid fault-finding, problem-solving, and technical repair skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose issues.
  • Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication
  • A positive, initiative-taking approach - able to work independently or as part of a team.
