We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Portering and Logistics Manager to deputise the Service Manager in their absence and to manage day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficiency and commercial accountability for Portering services.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out formal meetings and investigations with staff for disciplinary issues.
  • Work with the Facilities Matron on matters relating to Portering and Helpdesk services.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Advisor on safeguard issues specific to Portering/Helpdesk, including risk assessments and COSHH.
  • Analyse and review productivity reports, implementing changes to maximise departmental efficiencies.
  • Ensure payroll procedures are carried out correctly and respond to payroll queries and errors promptly.
  • Analyse data to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements within the service.
  • Maintain staffing levels in line with service requirements.
  • Establish good working relationships with the client by attending meetings and completing checks as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficient IT user (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Confident, adept communicator, able to operate effectively at all levels.
  • Leadership experience in Portering, Logistics services, facilities management, leisure, retail or related sectors, ideally with exposure to healthcare.
  • Experience supervising and developing teams, directing others effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

  • £32,000 per annum.
  • 40 hours per week / 5 days over 7 between Monday and Sunday.
