We are seeking a committed and compassionate Roman Catholic Chaplain to join the Chaplaincy Team at HMP Forest Bank. This role offers a unique opportunity to support residents and staff within a prison environment, contributing to rehabilitation, wellbeing, and the development of a respectful, ordered, and caring community.
The Role
Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will help deliver the Faith and Pastoral Care specification, alongside the wider chaplaincy provision, including both faith-based and non-faith-based courses. You will also contribute to the development of local policies, procedures, and practices that support effective chaplaincy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve the religious and pastoral needs of residents and staff, supporting Roman Catholic faith and practice within the prison.
- Work with others to foster an ordered and caring community where individuals can explore, practise, and strengthen their faith.
- Support residents of all faiths by facilitating religious prayers and teachings representative of the prison population.
- Participate in chaplaincy team meetings and other establishment meetings as required.
- Undertake generic chaplaincy duties when necessary and appropriate, including:
- Supporting new receptions
- Managing chaplaincy applications
- Visiting residents in Separation, Care, and the Healthcare Centre
