Shift working pattern is a 3 week rota 22:00 to 06:00, 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00
£16.40 to £19.97 per hour, plus RRP £67.12 per week, plus shift allowance of up to £266.02 per week
Location is Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Hospital, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9WL
Must have a Level 3 NVQ in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering for this role.

What You'll Do:
- Diagnose, test, and repair faults in complex electrical installations and hospital specific medical and life safety systems.
- Investigate causes of electrical failures or breakdowns within hospital infrastructure and undertake necessary remedial actions to ensure continuous operation.
- Maintain, install, and commission electrical systems and minor works across hospital facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, electrical standards, and healthcare safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments for electrical maintenance and repair activities, implementing safe working practices to protect staff, patients, and visitors.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and hospital departments to coordinate electrical works and ensure adherence to health and safety policies.
- Keep detailed records of electrical plant, equipment, and maintenance history, including testing and certification documentation.
- Ensure all electrical systems in hospital environments comply with healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining high levels of safety and reliability.
What You Bring:
- Relevant Qualifications and Extensive Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with proven competence in diagnosing and repairing complex plant and control systems
- Strong Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and legislation, with demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices
- Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team, prioritising workload and handling emergency situations efficiently under pressure
- Proficiency in Using Specialist Tools and Machinery, including power tools ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment, in compliance with PUWER regulations
- Excellent Communication Skills for liaising with contractors, hospital staff, and external agencies, conveying technical information clearly and accurately
- Commitment to Continuous Learning and Development, including willingness to undertake training, attain relevant certifications, and stay updated with new techniques and procedures
