Maintenance Officer
We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated management team. In this role, you will ensure the effective delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and Micro Projects while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities, supporting teams, and driving continuous improvement across the estate.
Job Details
- 40 hours per week (6 month fixed term contract)
- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday
- Based in Belfast
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate direct and subcontracted labour to deliver maintenance and project work efficiently.
- Build strong client relationships and focus on service excellence.
- Oversee allocated systems, providing training and technical guidance.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate contract documentation.
- Manage suppliers to ensure compliance, performance, and KPI achievement.
- Monitor service quality and identify improvement opportunities.
- Participate in on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support.
- Ensure all work aligns with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability policies.
- Coordinate delivery of Reactive Maintenance, PPM, Remedial Works, and Micro/Small Projects.
- Support Health & Safety management, asset data, and statutory compliance.
- Collaborate with the team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Level 4 qualification (NVQ, professional diploma, or HNC).
- Full driving licence.
- Proven experience managing maintenance services and micro works across complex estates.
- Strong understanding of PPM, statutory compliance, and contract delivery.
- Experience managing multiple contractors and KPIs.
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CAFM/CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of financial business case development (MACC, OPEX, CAPEX, NPV).
- Experience in Facilities Management or large estate operations.
Desirable
- HND or equivalent qualification.
- CDM experience.
- CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant or Assessor.
- LEED or BREEAM Assessor certification.
- Knowledge of ISO and BS sustainability/environmental standards.
