We’re looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join our team in London. This is a hands-on role where you’ll supervise and support a team of engineers while continuing to work on the tools yourself. You’ll be responsible for making sure planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing technical support and guidance to the wider team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step into supervision, or an existing supervisor who doesn't want to lose the hands-on engineering element of their role. This isn't a desk-based supervisor role. We're looking for someone who is visible, hands-on and technically credible,someone who can lead the team from the front, get involved when there's a difficult fault to resolve and make sure work is delivered safely and properly. You'll be the link between the engineering team, the client and management, helping to keep a complex facility operating safely and reliably. The site is high profile, with sophisticated assets and a low tolerance for downtime, so your technical judgement, leadership and ability to respond when things don't go to plan will be important. Key responsibilities: As our Working Engineering Supervisor, you'll: Lead, supervise and support a team of engineering technicians, while remaining hands-on with maintenance and fault-finding. Carry out and supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a complex client facility. Diagnose faults, troubleshoot problems and carry out repairs across a range of building services and engineering systems. Coordinate the team's daily workload, ensuring reactive and planned activities are completed within agreed SLAs. Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to engineers and apprentices. Review risk assessments and RAMS and ensure work is completed safely and in line with statutory requirements. Supervise specialist subcontractors, including reviewing quotations, costs and completed works. Carry out and supervise minor works and like-for-like asset replacements. Monitor engineering standards and ensure the team follows safe systems of work, procedures and best practice. Manage engineering spares, tools, equipment and PPE, ensuring they are available and properly maintained. Work closely with the client and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Respond to emergency call-outs and provide engineering support outside normal working hours when required. Keep up to date with changes in legislation, engineering standards and best practice and share knowledge with the team. Support accurate maintenance records, CAFM updates and reporting. Look for opportunities to improve the way the engineering team works, including efficiency, sustainability and service delivery.What we're looking for: We're looking for someone who combines strong technical engineering skills with the confidence and communication skills to lead others. You'll ideally have: An engineering qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or above. Strong practical experience within a technical maintenance or building-services environment. Proven experience supervising engineers or technicians. Experience working within a commercial Hard FM, facilities management or complex engineering environment. Strong knowledge of engineering compliance, legislation and industry best practice. Experience with PPM, reactive maintenance and fault-finding. Good understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments and RAMS. Experience managing or supervising specialist subcontractors. Experience using CAFM/CMMS systems and Microsoft Office. Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload and coordinate the team's workload. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors.
