Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks, and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts every month. Further information will be supplied at the interview stage.

As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo at Leicester Grammar School, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of everyone’s everyday experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
  • Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard:
  • Floors & Walls
  • Bins – inside and out
  • Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes
  • Fridges & Freezers (with assistance from chefs)
  • Delivery areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
  • Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing your work, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
  • Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
  • Report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor.
  • What You Bring:

    • Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
    • Ability to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
    • No previous work experience required.
