We are seeking an Industrial Cleaner to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across production and associated areas at Mars Care & Treats in Birstall. The role supports safe and efficient operation of the site by maintaining a clean, hygienic, and well‑presented environment at all times.
Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties across production, office, and service areas including floors, fittings, glass, and equipment.
- Complete all daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks in line with schedules, minimising disruption to production.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in line with site and food production requirements.
- Use cleaning equipment, materials, and chemicals safely and effectively.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in safe working order.
- Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as required.
- Report maintenance faults, defects, or safety concerns to the Supervisor or Cleaning Manager.
- Follow all site rules, security procedures, and correct processes for lost property.
- Respond to ad‑hoc and emergency cleaning requests as directed.
- Maintain accurate standards of personal hygiene and presentation at all times.
- Attend training as required to remain compliant with company policies and legislation.
- Adhere to all company and client health and safety procedures.
- Complete mandatory site induction and training before entering production areas.
- Correctly use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Promote safe working practices and report any hazards immediately.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial or production cleaning is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of hygiene standards and safe working practices.
- Ability to follow procedures and work to strict standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- Flexible and willing to undertake a range of cleaning duties.
