Job Introduction
As a Chef at Sodexo in Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital, you will prepare high‑quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You will manage your section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards, and thrive in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven team.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and cook meals in line with recipes, production schedules and food standards.
- Support the delivery of food services to patients, staff and visitors.
- Ensure all food is produced safely, hygienically and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain stock control, rotation and storage procedures.
- Assist with menu planning, ordering and receiving deliveries.
- Prepare special dietary meals as required.
- Support meal service and ensure excellent presentation at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
- Complete audit and quality documentation as required.
- Support training and supervision of junior team members.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
What you bring

- Previous experience in a similar chef role.
- Strong culinary and food presentation skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Financial awareness and understanding of stock control.
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or equivalent).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Desirable
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Diet Cook's Certificate.
