Responsibilities
- Prepare 400-600 meals daily to a high standard and on schedule.
- Ensure all food is produced in line with HACCP and Sodexo guidelines, with accurate record keeping.
- Provide efficient and friendly service to customers during meal times.
- Maintain kitchen and service areas to the highest hygiene standards, completing all required documentation.
- Support the Chef Manager with buffets, functions, stock control and ordering.
- Assist with food preparation in the Grab & Go unit and Walmer House as required.
- Report incidents or customer feedback promptly, ensuring documentation is completed.
- Contribute to the training and development of junior catering team members.
- Play a key role in the smooth running of the catering operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Passionate about food and customer service.
- Supervising Food Safety Level 3 qualification (desirable / working towards).
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification (desirable).
- Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience.
- Knowledge of contract catering and staff training desirable.
- Professional appearance with a strong focus on hygiene.
Compensation
- £14.23 per hour.
- 12-18 hours per week.
- Shifts: 1st week 12 hrs & 2nd week 18 hrs (1st week Wed & Thurs & 2nd week Wed - Friday). Wednesday & Thursday 7.00am - 1.00pm & Alternative Fridays 7.00am - 1.00pm.
