About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at the Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to leading teams and maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the cleaning team, ensuring all duties are carried out in line with SLAs
- Monitor cleaning performance through regular quality audits and inspections
- Induct and train new team members, delivering toolbox talks and ongoing coaching
- Maintain a hands‑on approach, assisting with daily cleaning duties, deep cleans, and covering absences when required
- Ensure staff understand expectations around workloads, standards, and client relationships
- Carry out regular inspections of cleaning equipment and arrange replacements when necessary
- Maintain cleaning supplies and order stock from approved suppliers
- Conduct weekly huddle meetings with the department manager
- Complete annual competency checks and support Personal Development Reviews (PDRs)
- Conduct monthly cleaning audits across all areas
- Monitor staff attendance daily and complete return‑to‑work meetings following sickness absence
- Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures in line with company policies and HR guidance
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company and industry standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and customers, providing a friendly and professional service
- Adhere to all health & safety policies, including COSHH, hygiene, fire safety, and safe working practices
- Report all accidents and near misses in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure all equipment is safe to use and report faults immediately
- Attend and complete all required job‑related training
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager
