We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Operative to join our team, delivering high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within a GMP-regulated environment. This is a key role responsible for ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards in line with client requirements and company procedures. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver a safe, compliant, and high-quality service.
What you'll do:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all designated areas to GMP standards
- Complete daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks, including specialist duties such as silicone line cleaning
- Follow cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Use cleaning chemicals safely in line with COSHH guidelines
- Ensure appropriate use of safety signage (e.g. wet floor signs) at all times
- Maintain cleaning equipment in a clean and safe working condition
- Ensure cleaning stores are kept organised and fully stocked
- Report low stock levels, hazards, faults, or issues to the Supervisor or Hygiene Manager
- Comply with all Health & Safety, hygiene, and site regulations, including GMP and local safety procedures
- Support colleagues and assist in other areas when required (e.g. sickness or annual leave cover)
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and clients
What you'll bring:
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a GMP or regulated environment
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- COSHH trained (essential)
- Aware of GMP / GxP standards
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and work to strict timelines
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of personal hygiene
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and proactive
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
