About the Role

Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant at United Airlines Lounge Terminal 2. We’re experience makers and relationship builders, and we’re hiring. At Sodexo Live! you’ll grow your skills at the most celebrated events and venues alongside a team of hospitality professionals.

Package Description

  • £14.06 per hour
  • 4 on 2 off (lounge opening hours 4am to 10pm, shift pattern will vary according to business needs)

Roles will be permanent once vetted and an airside pass is obtained for the airport – and on completion of the probation period. Any employee benefits, rewards and recognition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that you understand the correct preparation, cooking, presentation & service of food, as implemented by the kitchen management team.
  • Be responsive to all training provided and attend all training sessions.
  • Takes responsibility for your own career path and continuous self‑improvement.
  • Have excellent levels of personal hygiene and presentation standards.
  • Be correctly dressed in clean uniform at all times.
  • Be consistently punctual for all scheduled shifts.
  • Ensure the aesthetic standards of presentation of the kitchen & the pass are excellent at all times.
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment to maximise efficiency & prolong life.
  • Order and accept all deliveries to Sodexo standards and ensure that all stock meets both company and legal standards.
  • Assist in accurate record keeping, security and safe storage of all relevant deliveries.
  • Assist in the implementation of all fire regulations and procedures and assist in evacuations as necessary.
  • Monitor all equipment & report any maintenance issues in cooperation with the Manager.
  • Assist with the ordering, storage and careful use of all kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain all kitchen equipment to minimise maintenance costs.
  • Adhere to the correct product storage, stock rotation, food quality and portion control as set out by the kitchen management team.

  • Previous experience as commis chef or kitchen assistant, who has worked in busy and fast paced work environment.
  • Calm and patient under pressure.
  • Flexible and able to work the shifts mentioned.
  • Able to work within a very busy lounge and stressful environment.
  • Overall a passion for food.
  • Demonstrative customer focus and service skills.
