Job Introduction

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Facilities Management team at Holyhead Inland Border Facility Parc Cybi Ynys Mon LL65 2YQ, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a complex building services environment. This role is hands-on and varied, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of site infrastructure while maintaining strong communication with clients, site teams, and contractors. You will play a key role in maintaining service quality, supporting continuous improvement, and delivering work to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain effective communication with site representatives, colleagues, and clients to support high-quality service delivery.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, inspections, and installations.
  • Ensure all work complies with legislation, codes of practice, and Sodexo Health & Safety procedures.
  • Respond to planned and reactive work from Facilities Managers or the Command Centre.
  • Carry out maintenance across HVAC, electrical distribution, water systems, BMS, fire alarms, lifts, and boiler controls.
  • Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support diagnosis and repair.
  • Support general building fabric works as part of a multi-skilled approach.
  • Liaise with and support specialist contractors where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, test results, and follow-up actions.
  • Work to deadlines, ensuring KPIs and uptime targets are achieved.
  • Provide flexible support across the engineering team when required.
  • Identify improvements in systems, processes, and stock requirements.
  • Carry communication devices for emergency response during core hours.

What you bring:

We're looking for a proactive, skilled engineer with strong technical ability and a customer-focused mindset.

  • Essential Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in building services/FM maintenance environments.
  • Strong background in PPM, reactive maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, water systems, BMS, fire alarms, and associated plant.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH, and Permit to Work procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and prioritisation skills.

Desirable:

  • Multi-skilled engineering experience across electrical, mechanical, and fabric works.
  • Experience in critical or complex environments.
  • Experience supporting apprentices or junior engineers.
  • CP/Authorised Person experience.
