Job Description: As a Junior Chef De Partie for Sodexo, you\βll be at the heart of the school, assisting the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, and Sous Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen, and ensuring every meal is top-tier. Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, and Sous Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen regarding hospitality functions and core catering food delivery.
- Monitor the cooking, chilling, and storage of foods, keeping records as required and taking appropriate action to ensure compliance with HACCP procedures.
- Liaise with the Core and Hospitality teams to ensure all crockery is correct and ready for service.
- Prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly regarding customers\β special dietary requirements (e.g., nut, dairy, or wheat allergies).
- Ensure all production prep and waste is managed accurately.
- Assist with special functions, some of which may occur outside normal working hours, for which you will be paid overtime or given time off in lieu.
- Take ownership of Core Service and Hospitality functions, with support from Executive, Head Chef, and Senior Sous Chef.
- Assist the Executive Chef and Head Chef with operating costs and controls to ensure Sodexo achieves optimum profits.
- Report any complaints or compliments and act if possible.
- Ensure all near misses and accidents are reported while on shift.
- Report any incident of accident, fire, theft, loss, or damage and act as appropriate.
- Attend meetings and courses as required.
- Contribute ideas to future menus.

Essential:
- Experience cooking on a large scale (100-1300 students).
- Experience following recipes in a professional kitchen.
- NVQ level 2 in food preparation.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
- Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to implement innovative solutions.
- Ability to set standards and operate to service standard criteria.
- HACCP awareness.
- Flexible attitude to working hours and a positive mental outlook.
