We're looking for a skilled and motivated Head Barista to lead our coffee operations at the Shell Centre in Waterloo. You'll be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality coffee and customer experiences, managing stock and menus, and leading a team of Baristas and Food Service Assistants. This is a great opportunity for an experienced barista with leadership skills to take the next step in their career - and enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekends.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of two busy coffee shops, ensuring service and quality meet brand standards.
  • Make and serve excellent coffee, while training and supporting your team to do the same.
  • Manage stock, ordering, menu planning, and compliance paperwork.
  • Support the Catering Manager with events, marketing initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Motivate your team and create a positive, customer-focused environment.
  • Ensure health, safety, and food hygiene standards are always met.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven barista experience in a high-volume coffee (e.g., Costa) or a catering/hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring a team.
  • Knowledge of current coffee and catering trends.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable with stock control, ordering, and basic administration.
  • Aware of food hygiene and health & safety compliance.
