Position Details

  • Hours per week: 37.5, Monday–Sunday.
  • Pay: £13.42 per hour.
  • Location: Worthy Down Barracks, Winchester (SO21 2RG).

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to Unit and Mess Managers.
  • Support the Events and Bar Manager with functions and pre‑event preparations.
  • Manage function bookings and daily catering requests.
  • Handle cash, including balancing monies and processing payments.
  • Prepare and issue Mess bills in line with procedures.
  • Greet guests and respond to queries in a professional manner.
  • Answer calls, take messages, and manage incoming mail.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Support team operations, meetings, and general office tasks.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organised, and compliant with standards.
  • Report incidents, faults, or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Strong verbal and written communication skills; Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a military environment; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
