As a Weekend Chef with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you’ll do:
- Deliver a high-quality food service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Prepare and serve fresh food in line with company standards, food safety requirements and budget guidelines.
- Follow all health & safety, food safety and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation across all kitchen and service areas.
- Respond promptly to customer feedback, escalating concerns and taking appropriate action where required.
- Support stock security, minimise waste and report any incidents, accidents or food safety concerns.
- Work flexibly to support the team, including covering absences, attending training and assisting with special events when needed.
What you bring:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and Food Safety certificates (level 3 desired).
- Experience preparing and cooking fresh food in a catering, hospitality or healthcare environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Excellent punctuality, attendance and time management skills.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.
- A strong understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and safe working practices.
- High standards of personal hygiene, cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Experience completing food safety or HACCP documentation is desirable.
