Job Introduction: Are you looking for a role where no two days are the same? As a De‑escalation Guard at Redfern Building, Sadlers Yard, Manchester, M4 4AH you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of both the building and the people inside. This site is a probation centre, meaning you’ll regularly interact with ex‑offenders and probation staff. Your presence will contribute to a safer environment and positively impact the lives of those you encounter.
What You’ll Do:
- Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring strict adherence to security protocols.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all building users.
- Monitor CCTV, Access Control, and other security systems to detect and prevent security threats.
- Act as the first line of response to security incidents, system activations, and fault reports.
- Handle calls, relay messages, and provide clear guidance to staff and visitors.
- Conduct regular security patrols to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
What You Bring:
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with staff, visitors, and local authorities.
- Must be 18 or older and hold a valid SIA License.
- Excellent communication and situational awareness.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Due to the nature of the site, a full DBS clearance is required.
