What you'll do

  • Help maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone on site, protecting people, property and assets.
  • Carry out regular internal, external, perimeter and car park patrols, remaining alert to potential security concerns.
  • Control access and egress for employees, visitors, contractors and vehicles.
  • Welcome and book in visitors and contractors, ensuring the correct security and induction procedures are followed.
  • Monitor

CCTV, access control, fire alarm and other security systems , responding promptly to alerts or incidents.

  • Respond effectively to fire alarms, intruder alerts, emergencies and calls for assistance , following site procedures at all times.
  • Work closely with colleagues, managers, contractors and emergency services when responding to incidents.
  • Carry out staff and vehicle searches when required and in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support weighbridge operations and accurately record vehicle movements.
  • Maintain accurate security records, including incident reports, Health & Safety documentation and daily occurrence records.
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents and security concerns promptly.
  • Provide clear and professional shift handovers, ensuring important information and ongoing issues are communicated.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new Security Officers by demonstrating site procedures and tasks.
  • Complete required competency checks, training and SIA licence updates to maintain your knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain a professional, approachable and customer-focused presence at all times.
  • Work flexibly as part of the wider security team to support the needs of the site.

What you'll bring

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence – essential .
  • Previous frontline customer service experience.
  • Previous security, patrolling, facilities or operational experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and vigilant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to accurately complete written records and incident reports.
  • A calm and professional approach when dealing with emergencies, incidents or challenging situations.
  • The confidence to work independently, use your initiative and make appropriate decisions.
  • A positive, helpful and customer-focused attitude.
  • Basic IT skills with the confidence to use computers and site systems.
  • The ability to follow security, Health & Safety and site procedures accurately.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous weighbridge experience would be advantageous.
  • An

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate would be beneficial.

  • A full UK driving licence would be desirable.
