Overview
We are seeking a professional and proactive Control Room – CCTV Operative to join the security team at Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard, a flagship destination in the heart of Covent Garden. This unique venue combines immersive brand experiences with vibrant hospitality, including retail, bars, restaurants, an experience centre, and flexible event spaces—all powered by the spirit of Guinness. As part of our dedicated security team, you will play a vital role in protecting staff, visitors, property, and products, ensuring a safe and secure environment across this high-profile site.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Site Security & Patrols – Conduct regular internal and external patrols, monitor high-risk areas, manage access control, issue and audit ID cards, and maintain key registers in line with assignment instructions.
- CCTV & Systems Monitoring – Operate and monitor CCTV in compliance with SIA and GDPR, respond to alarms and fire panel activations, and accurately use the P2D 360 system and product tagging systems.
- Incident Response & Reporting – Respond to emergencies, provide first aid where required, carry out searches, escalate issues promptly, and produce detailed incident reports following SOPs and escalation processes.
- Customer Service & Communication – Meet and greet staff, visitors, and contractors professionally, maintain radio communication, respond to calls and emails, and ensure consistent delivery of a high-level service.
- Compliance & Administration – Maintain accurate records (DOB, access logs, search sheets, daily files), comply with Diageo, Sodexo, and site-specific policies, and support audits and inductions as required.
- Flexibility & Training – Work across day, night, and weekend shifts at short notice, complete regular training (including off-site courses), and support the security manager and lead with any additional duties.
What You Bring
- Licensing & Compliance – Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licence.
- Experience – Previous experience in hospitality, bar, or event security, with exposure to premium venues an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge – Confident using CCTV systems, access control technologies, and knowledgeable in venue safety procedures such as evacuation and incident response.
- Skills & Abilities – Excellent verbal communication, strong conflict resolution skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Professionalism – Smart, professional appearance with a customer-focused attitude and sound understanding of licensing laws.
- Flexibility & Training – Willing and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; First Aid qualification (or willingness to achieve) desirable.
