The Role
Join Sodexo in Shetland as a Commis Chef, where you'll play an essential role in supporting our culinary operations. You'll work alongside experienced chefs, gain hands-on experience, and help deliver high-quality food while maintaining exceptional kitchen standards. What You'll Do
- Assist in preparing and producing dishes within your designated section.
- Learn and develop under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support training and development.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards.
- Prepare, present, and serve food to a consistently high standard.
- Support deliveries and stock rotation to ensure freshness and compliance.
What You Bring
- NVQ Level 2 qualification (or higher) in Professional Cookery, or at least 2+ years of experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of menu planning and food production processes.
- Experience in or exposure to bulk or large-scale catering.
- A proactive attitude, passion for food, and strong team spirit.
