Salary: £54,000 per annum. Monday to Friday plus rota Saturday and call out 7am - 6pm and 1pm - 10pm. 6% annual bonus. £1,800 standby/call-out allowance. Sodexo rewards and employee benefits. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join our Technical Services team at NBCUniversal's prestigious Central London headquarters. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will act as the site lead for mechanical building services, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of critical HVAC and mechanical systems across the estate.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services systems.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day performance of HVAC plant including AHUs, FCUs, chilled water systems, LTHW systems, pumps, pressurisation units and associated controls.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical faults while acting as a technical escalation point for the engineering team.
  • Lead mechanical statutory inspections and compliance activities, including water hygiene and Legionella monitoring.
  • Supervise contractors, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with permits, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.

What You'll Bring

  • Recognised mechanical trade qualification – City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, HVAC or Refrigeration, or proven equivalent experience.
  • Proven hands‑on experience maintaining commercial HVAC plant, including cassette FCUs, AHUs, chilled water systems, LTHW systems, pumps and pressurisation systems.
  • F‑Gas Category I certification.
  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring engineers within a commercial maintenance environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical building services systems.
  • Experience working within facilities management, building services or commercial property maintenance.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance requirements, SFG20 maintenance standards and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience working with permit‑to‑work systems, isolations and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
