Sodexo is looking for a compassionate, organised and hands-on House Manager / Qualified Carer to take responsibility for the safe, efficient and caring day-to-day running of a residential home accommodating up to eight residents. This is a varied role combining house management, team coordination and direct care. You will oversee care, catering, cleaning and maintenance, ensuring the home is safe, welcoming and well organised, while providing high-quality, person-centred support to residents. This is a hands-on position, so you will be expected to assist with care, cleaning, catering and other household duties when required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the residential home.
  • Coordinate care, catering, cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare staff rotas, allocate duties and arrange cover where required.
  • Lead, support and develop the team, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Provide person-centred care that promotes residents' dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.
  • Undertake direct care duties within your qualifications and competence.
  • Coordinate catering and ensure dietary requirements, allergies and individual preferences are met.
  • Maintain high standards of cleaning, hygiene and infection prevention.
  • Carry out routine premises and safety checks and coordinate approved contractors.
  • Ensure health & safety, fire safety, safeguarding and other regulatory requirements are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation.
  • Monitor supplies and support responsible stock and budget control.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to operational issues, emergencies and changing priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve both residents' experience and the operation of the home.

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable and practical, with the confidence to lead a small team while remaining hands-on. You'll need:

You’ll need:

  • A recognised care qualification appropriate to the service and regulatory requirements.
  • Current or previous experience providing direct care to people with support needs.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating staff in a residential, care, hospitality or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention and person-centred care.
  • A good understanding of health & safety and risk assessments.
  • The ability to coordinate maintenance, catering and cleaning services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational, record-keeping and basic IT skills.
  • The willingness and physical ability to undertake appropriate care, cleaning and catering duties.

Desirable

  • Supervisory or management qualification.
  • Food hygiene certification.
  • First-aid training.
  • Fire-safety or fire-marshal training.
  • Moving and handling training.
  • Experience managing a small residential or supported-living service.
  • Experience within Sodexo or another regulated service environment.
