As a Cleaner, you’ll deliver a high-quality, responsive cleaning service in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs. You’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across a variety of university spaces while working safely, efficiently and professionally at all times.
What you’ll do:
- Cleaning designated areas thoroughly and within agreed timeframes, including daily, weekly and periodic tasks.
- Using cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations.
- Cleaning floors using appropriate equipment, including buffing machines where required.
- Emptying bins and replenishing consumables such as toilet rolls, soap and paper towels.
- Damp-dusting surfaces including desks, furniture, skirting boards, stair rails and communal areas.
- Ensuring safety signage (e.g. wet floor signs) is used correctly at all times.
- Keeping cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.
- Reporting faulty equipment, low stock levels and any health & safety concerns to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Wearing company uniform and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
- Providing cover across other areas during sickness and holidays when required.
- Attending training and team meetings to maintain standards and develop your skills.
